Courses for family or friends.

A fun packed and creative half day course. A maximum of 6 students per session will have the opportunity to make a number of pots using a variety of techniques including work on the potters wheel. Students work will be fired and glazed and returned approximately two weeks later by arrangement. (any postage costs will be extra).

Cost £35 per adult £20 for children under 12.

1 day Taster Course

An experience designed for the beginner who always wanted to have a go or for those who tried it a long time ago and would like to do more. These courses take students a step at a time through the pottery making process from the raw clay to the finished article. Students will be taught about clay and how it can be used to produce pots and models. They will then learn the main hand making pottery techniques and they will create a number of pots in their own individual designs.

The art of throwing a pot on the potter’s wheel will be demonstrated and students will have ample opportunity to develop their own skills using this technique.
Students will be shown how to decorate their finished work using a variety of techniques based on historical traditions. The process of firing will be explained and pots will be fired and glazed in the students choice of colour within 2 weeks.



The cost of this course is £70 per student (including buffet lunch). This includes small group tuition, two teachers to a maximum of 6 students. All equipment and materials, including individual potter’s wheels and the cost of firing and glazing the pottery produced is also included. There is no limit to the number of pots students can have fired and they will be ready within two -three weeks of the course for local delivery or collection. If students wish them to be posted the cost of postage is extra.


If you have at least 3 friends or family wishing to do this course we will run it just for you, on a day and date to suit you, subject to availability.If you wish to join a course as an individual please contact to ask for courses already scheduled and availability within them.

Wheel Throwing for beginners

A half or full day introductory course on using the potter’s wheel. A Maximum of 6 students, £35 per student per half day £70 per day. This course enables complete beginners to have a go and develop their skills with expert tuition. Each student will be allocated a wheel and will have ample opportunity to create a number of pots which will be fired glazed and returned within two-three weeks. This course will run subject to demand please contact for details.
